Turning your old Mobile Phone into much Needed Cash

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Recycling, Uncategorized

It’s not a secret that the economy has been struggling over the last couple of years. The global credit crunch and the resulting recessions have led to a number of negative issues that affect a large number of us.

At its worst, the recession causes redundancy. In times of recession, people spend less which means to business profits falling which in turns leads to companies cutting costs by reducing staffing levels. This is a regrettable thing to happen but the fact is that it does happen and will happen again in the future.

An easy way for anyone looking to raise some funds is to receive cash for your mobile phone. Getting cash for old mobiles is a lot easier than you may think. There are many companies who carry out mobile phone recycling where they take your old unwanted mobiles, give you cash and then recycle your phone.

You may not think that you’ll get a lot for your old mobile, you may think that as you don’t want it then surely no one else will pay anything for it. If you are of this opinion, then you may be very wrong. For example, even if you just have an old Nokia 6230i, some companies will happily pay £10 for this. At the other end of the scale, if you have an 8GB Apple iphone then you could receive a minimum of £90.

If you’re in need of some quick cash then it makes perfect sense to get some use out of your old mobile rather than letting them gather dust and depreciate even further.

Benefits of Recycling your Mobile Phone

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Recycling, Telecommunications

We are constantly referred to as a throwaway society for understandable reasons, but this is never more apparent than in our treatment of mobile phones.

This small and remarkable piece of technology has evolved far more rapidly over the last twenty or so years than most of us would ever have believed. We pay many hundreds of pounds over a typically two year period for the latest handsets. Despite this expense, upon their replacement, they are frequently consigned to a dusty drawer until they become of truly nominal value or they do simply get disposed of as waste once their working life is over. It seems extremely unlikely that any other high value, high powered modern tool is so regularly disposed of without any attempt to realise its remaining value.

This behaviour is simply not sustainable or realising the most of both your own personal assets and the resources of the planet. The vast majority of the cost of a mobile phone is representative of the development investment that has supported this rapid technological evolution. There is however very real value in the component parts and materials used in their construction.

Mobile phone recycling offers two very real benefits. In cases where you possess a fairly modern handset, you can obtain cash for your phone while it still possesses resale value. Mobile phone recycling is not restricted to modern handsets though. Old handsets are still actively recycled as the valuable components can be recycled in a more basic form. This helps to reduce our contribution to landfill and unsustainable behaviour.
